Creatine ethyl ester is the most absorbable form of creatine. The ethyl ester is a delivery system that bypasses the need for creatine transporters (as mentioned below) and is delivered directly into the muscle cells. Once the creatine ethyl ester enters the muscle, the ethyl ester is simply removed by the estrases leaving creatine in its salt form. This results in water being pulled inside the muscle.
All other forms of creatine (except creatine ethyl ester) need transporters to enter the muscle. There are only a limited number of natural transporters in the body.
